Who We Are

The Department of Leadership, Research, and School Improvement consists of 13 faculty members composed of educational leadership scholars, researchers, and award-winning practitioners. Our programs are strong in preparing certified leaders, particularly educational leaders, including assistant principals, principals, and other leaders identified by districts and educational entities. As the state's largest and most successful program, UWG developed more than half of Georgia's newly certified leaders. Our programs are highly ranked in the state with students outperforming other examinees on state and national exams. 

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

The Department of Leadership, Research, and School Improvement prepares educational leaders for the schools of today and the future. We also provide service courses in research methodology and classroom assessment for programs throughout the college and have a multidisciplinary certification program in data analytics and evaluation methods encompassing disciplines across the university.
